Last month Team Yoga Leggs found ourselves back at Alexandra Palace, exhibiting our wares for the second time in our short history as Essex’s number one provider of colourful yoga pants. (Who knows, we might well be?) When we took the plunge last year and committed to a stand at The Om Yoga Show, we had literally just launched our brand. Which you guessed it was primarily based on selling Yoga leggings. And no, we didn’t spell leggs wrong; there is clever thinking behind the name.(lol)
We were overwhelmed and taken by surprise by the enthusiasm for our product, we launched with just eight eye-popping leopard printed pairs with a determination to bring some serious fun and vibrancy into the UK yoga leggings market. It was critical for us to offer a high-end finished product at an affordable price that was cut and designed in a way that is both functional and flattering not forgetting fashionable. Our higher waisted modest fit will enhance most figures and we were very happy and proud to be able to offer a wide spectrum of sizes starting at extra extra small ideal for tweens, teens and teeny tiny yogis up to an extra large.
Understandably there is much media focus and discussion about how a Yoga body should look. We are delighted to see curvier ladies rocking our Yoga Leggs. Our clientele ranges from age ten to seventy something. There is no stereotype here at Yoga Leggs HQ.
We certainly appreciate that everybody has a yoga body. If we sold more larger sizes, we could offer more choice. It is a catch twenty-two situation for us as a small business. For Yoga Leggs to grow we have to supply what is demanded. So come on ladies, be confident step out of the black and into the light. There must be a pair for you. Find out why yogis love our leggings.
To accommodate our rapidly expanding range of Leggs (we currently stock seventeen) and the fact that we may have diversified into the slogan sweater business (we are all about the positive) we opted for a slightly larger corner stand at this year’s Om Yoga Show. We had an amazing show. Did you see our inflatable Yoga Leggs and we almost had a proper changing room; unlike last year’s blue sheet(which was makeshift but fun). We are super professional these days!
Same as last year it was a solid few days of intensely busy work, again it felt like a weekend in Vegas where you lose all sense of reality, time and have no idea what the weather is doing. Only all things yoga becomes the drug as opposed to gambling. Healthier I hope. We were so close to doors of the Mind Body Soul Experience we could almost smell the incense and feel the good vibes; our primary intention was to sell Yoga clothing, not to buy more crystals! So with restraint, we barely left the stand.
This small business grew from our passion for Yoga and all things spiritual; attending the show for us is like being little kids locked in a sweet shop and being told not to eat! We did venture across to our neighbours Yogafurie. What was supposed to be a quick photo to post on twitter turned into one of us actually taking part in their plankathon competition! Five minutes two seconds later (yoga four times a week pays off) I was champion for a while.
What we love best about exhibiting and popping up is that we get to meet you the customer. And the teachers and the studio owners and the like-minded souls with a passion for Yoga. It goes without saying that Yoga is so much more than what colour spandex leggings you might put on for class. And who knows how long this phenomenon of living in your fitness clothing will even last. For now, we are having a fantastic time bringing vibrancy and comfort to your practice, we enjoy seeing and sharing what you get up to in your Yoga leggs and get a real sense of satisfaction from meeting our followers old and new.
So the good news is we have already signed up for The Om Yoga show London 2017. The better news is we loved it so much we just signed up for Manchester too! See you in May northern Yogis. That is if we can escape of course. With four children, two babies a cat and a very large dog between us we may need Ganesha to clear some obstacles.
Namaste
