Recipe rituals
health, food & guidance
My journey with food started 20 years ago, it was very unhealthy. I started to eliminate things from my diet. When we take something from our diet we need to replace it with something which is good for us, this is on a physical and emotional level. Alcohol was my first thing, that I had a very unhealthy relationship with. Then dairy, then a few years later meat. It was a process, I now eat a purely plant-based diet. My body is not deprived of anything, I feel healthier in my 50s than I did in my 20s.
Working with clients around their relationship with food, food is our most basic form of self-care, yet one most people seem to neglect.
At recipe rituals I work with clients on a one to one basis, we are bio-individual, so what one person needs another may not. Looking at how our food affects our feelings and emotions, the gut is linked to our brain, we are literally what we eat. I don’t diagnose or prescribe, my clients are the best ones to tell me how food affects their wellbeing.
It’s about making healthy changes being supported, falling in love with food, healthy home-cooked nutritious delicious food.
The amazing transformations that take place with my clients when they commit to taking care of themselves, on a physical & emotional level.
These daily rituals become a way of life, which then have a ripple effect on the whole family.
Becoming aware of what our bodies need, stress can cause some to not eat, skip meals others overeat. Identifying these triggers and the emotions behind them is where our relationship with food starts to heal.
Starting our day
Water, hydrate As soon as I awake I drink a large glass of water, so much has been going on in our miraculous bodies while we sleep, our organs need hydration as soon as we wake, I drink water all day, the ultimate cleanse.
Breakfast, an absolute must
My go-to smoothie
- 1 avocado
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- Dairy-free milk
- 1 tbs hemp powder
Everything to start your day, embrace change small changes before you know it becomes your own daily rituals.
