Magical Mindfulness
Creative wellbeing workshops for children
Being mindful will get you everywhere and this goes for children as well as adults.
Adopting mindful exercises increases awareness, releases negative thoughts, lessens stress and anxiety, and promotes focus. These can also improve our relationships, advance cognitive flexibility, aid sleep, and boost compassion in ourselves and others. What’s there not to love?
At Magical Mindfulness, we promote mindfulness in a fun and soulful way. Our workshops offer children aged six and upwards, the opportunity to learn mindful practices through creative expression that they can use at home, school, and socially.
In a circle set-up, we enjoy many age-relevant activities together focused on a different theme (eg kindness, gratitude, and happiness) each week. We encourage children to express themselves, concentrate on building self-esteem and emphasize the arts of sharing and listening.
In a typical workshop, we cover some of the following, amongst others –
- Affirmations
- Mindful arts and crafts (eg friendship bracelets, finger art, card making)
- Storytelling and story sharing
- Sound therapy and dance
- Mindful reading
- Journaling
- Meditation
- Contribute to our Care book where children write the name/s of people or animals they know who need care, love, or support in some way each week
- Mood board creating – manifesting goals and intentions
- Visualisations/Meditations
We use as many items from nature as possible believing that real connection and grounding take place when we are aligned with mother nature and our outside world.
In every workshop, we aim to have fun, educate and acknowledge the STAR WITHIN EVERYONE PRESENT.
