26th June is International Scoliosis Awareness Day (ISAD)
26th June is International Scoliosis Awareness Day (ISAD)! Scoliosis, which is a sideward curvature of the spine with rotation is most often diagnosed between the ages of 10-15 but can affect people at any age. Most people affected are females (5 out of 6) and the earlier scoliosis is spotted the better as treatments are usually more effective at a younger age. Exercise is, of course, important for all of us but for those with scoliosis and spinal fusion, it is especially recommended to stay strong and healthy!

In the leadup to ISAD, Christine Jaureguiberry, Yoga Teacher at Yogaberry, Emily Hale, Pilates Teacher at Build & Breathe and Personal Trainer Caroline Freedman are hosting a fitness challenge with the hashtag #strongforscoliosis over on Instagram! There will be daily fitness prompts which you can join and there is the chance to win some fabulous prizes including a pair of Yoga Leggs! A great chance to get some motivation and inspiration for your practice or training if you have scoliosis or not!
Follow @yogaberry.scoliosis, @buildbreathe and @scoliosishandbook if you want to take part
