Personally, my heart is with the Mother. Pregnant ladies are so important to me, and I am not sure what makes me want to nurture them but I have felt compelled to care for pregnant ladies since becoming a mother myself. since completing my yoga training thirteen years ago, my path led me to pregnancy yoga and it is the perfect fit for me. Pregnancy yoga provided me with all the tools I needed to get through pregnancy and beyond and it became a way of life that was intertwined with what I needed for the future and what I wanted to pass on to others. Pregnancy Yoga was how my journey began and it is a pleasure to share that journey with other ladies.
I have been teaching my Loveuyoga unique birthing method for ten years and I still delight in doing it. Although the essence of the teaching remains the same, every class is very different, every experience and pregnancy is unique and personal. And the teaching is moulded to suit the individual or the group. It is wonderful to connect with ladies at this very special time in their lives and with the energy of the new life within them.
I meet and teach ladies from all walks of life, ages, creeds and appearances. Women who would not usually cross paths all come together and unite to share personal experience, fears, anxieties, happiness, positivity, ailments and lasting friendships are born.
My classes do not just last an hour, they are just the beginning in creating a new community, a tribe ready to birth the new generation. Being a part of that is so special – I have the best job in the world!
In today’s world women are struggling to do it all and they often feel the pressure of the work world, commuting and negotiating maternity terms and cover. The pressure of trying to carry on as normal can often mean anxiety can creep in before the baby is born. Pregnancy is a sacred blessing and the pregnant woman should be treated like a queen!
In my new role as a Doula, I will specialise in the care of prenatal and postnatal women. Helping the new Mum assert herself following the birth of her baby has a special place in my heart. I believe that two births take place when a baby is born, the baby and the mother both need special love, nurture, care and attention in equal parts.
In my Postnatal Doula care, I will carry out a ‘Closing of the Bones Ceremony which involves applying warm scented oil to the abdomen and binding the hips –( more info). I will also provide Reiki and Crystal healing. A full birth debrief will be provided. I will also provide information and guidance on baby massage and its benefits. I will be present to help and guide both parents and available for advice at any time.
I am grateful and excited to be part of your journey.
