Loving My Leggs For 2020
FINALLY, my brain has caught up with my body and firmly agrees it’s the best body it could ever be. It’s only taken 30 years but better late than never, right?!
When I was asked to write a blog for Yoga Leggs, I wondered what it was I wanted to share with you. What nuggets of gold could I inspire you with for a new decade?
But the thing is, the only person that can inspire you is you. And if you aren’t accepting of yourself it can feel hard to be inspired by anything. You can layer meditation, positive affirmations and journaling one on top of the other in your daily routine, but if the foundation is that you’re not good enough, not beautiful enough or ready enough, all you’re doing is reinforcing your limiting beliefs within a fake modality. It’s like a game of hide and seek where you’re always searching for that something to make you better than what you are. But you can’t better what’s already great!
Your body is an amazing creation that has the potential to continue creating until the day you die. It’s only through what happened to you growing up and how you learned to survive and be accepted did you come to this way of living and communicating with your body. When I remember my body as a child, all it wanted to do was hang upside down on the monkey bars, climb trees and play run-outs with my friends. And my body allowed me to do that with ease. It’s what paved the way for the way my body moves today and I’m so immensely grateful for the body I have. Without it, I wouldn’t be here.
